Minimum Salary - 68,000.00  

Maximum Salary - 85,000.00

What you'll do:

As an Underwriting Assistant at Aspen Insurance, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the underwriting team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include contributing to operational plans, maintaining compliance with processes and procedures, and providing effective support to the underwriting function. You will respond promptly to stakeholder requests, ensuring high-quality service standards. Your role will also involve capturing accurate underwriting data on systems, preparing documents for record-keeping, conducting research, preparing reports, and providing general administrative support.

• Contribute to the preparation and implementation of operational team plans
• Maintain compliance by adhering to agreed processes and procedures
• Provide effective support to the underwriting function
• Respond to internal and external stakeholder requests in accordance with service standards and best practice
• Ensure accurate underwriting data is captured on systems
• Prepare documents to establish and maintain accurate records
• Conduct research and prepare reports to support the business planning process
• Support the underwriting function through general administration

You have relevant knowledge of underwriting in the appropriate area and are familiar with Aspen's underwriting systems. Your basic understanding of insurance and reinsurance, particularly in relation to the relevant class of business, sets you apart. Your proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, along with other departmental software packages is essential. Your ability to prioritize tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain a customer-oriented approach will be key to your success in this role.

• Relevant knowledge of underwriting in appropriate area
• Working knowledge of relevant Aspen underwriting systems
• Basic understanding of insurance and reinsurance with specific reference to the relevant class of business
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office applications e.g. Excel and other departmental software packages
• Able to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
• Customer orientation
