The Role:
To deliver a Global HR Business partnering service to assigned business areas and the Bermuda office, both at a strategic and operational level, working with our leaders and people managers to ensure the people-related issues, processes, and initiatives are appropriately managed by the line and that business intelligence is gained by HR to respond effectively. Key Accountabilities:
- Acquire business intelligence (by developing knowledge and understanding of business areas and its strategies people priorities, issues, and challenges) to inform and support the development and alignment of the HR service delivery to the business with a focus on Bermuda.
- Utilize HR metrics in portfolio to develop strategies to reduce risks, influence cost efficiency and to address people related priorities, issues, and challenges.
- Successfully manage annual processes for respective business areas (e.g., salary review, annual bonus application, performance management, talent review, headcount and people cost budgeting etc.) to ensure effective and compliant application.
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with business leaders to raise credibility and to develop deep knowledge and understanding of key business priorities, issues, and challenges to deliver and add value as a commercially focused HRBP service.
- Provide advice on all HR matters, including compensation and benefits, recruitment/retention, performance management, employee relations and HR policies and procedures to ensure Aspen’s management of its people resources is cost efficient, effective, and compliant with best practice/ER protocol/legislation/regulatory standards.
- Manage and drive ‘people’ activity in business-related change issues and projects i.e., restructuring, acquisitions, etc. to identify and ensure any people matters are appropriately considered by the business in both design and implementation.
- Keep ABL ExCo apprised of HR matters. Attend and present at quarterly meetings as part of the Aspen Bermuda Limited (ABL) ExCo Committee.
- Prepare staffing update presentations for the ABL CEO on a quarterly basis.
- Engage with external Bermuda-based organizations in support of HR initiatives on-island including the ABIR HR Working Group, BFIS, and ABIC, work shadow, internships, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:
- 8+ years of Human Resources Business Partnering experience.
- Professionally qualified CIPD/SHRM/other relevant qualification with significant post-graduate HR experience desired.
- Deep experience with local Bermuda marketplace laws, HR regulations and best practices in HR management.
- Experience working for within the reinsurance or insurance industry strongly preferred.
- Up to date and timely knowledge of relevant employment law in areas of jurisdiction.
- Very good understanding of both internal business drivers and industry dynamics.
- Excellent HR system skills; SuccessFactors preferred.
- Analytical with an ability to interpret and understand HR data/metrics information and solve problems.
- Effective coaching and leadership skills.
- Exposure to complex financial services/insurance industries.
- Track record of successfully:
o Understanding and interpreting customer needs with respect to relevant HR discipline.
o Delivering relevant high-quality services to internal stakeholders.
o Experience executing HR/business projects.
