The minimum and maximum salaries for this job role are below:

 

Minimum Salary -  77,640.00 

Maximum Salary -  95,000.00 

 

The Role:

 

Lead evaluating the effectiveness of the underwriting process for all active business units globally, with a focus on US & Bermuda Insurance teams. Our Aspen Values are expected to be reflected in the delivery and performance of every role.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Follows the functional strategy and prioritises operational deliverables and activities of team to support delivery of overall business targets
  • Assist on projects, strategic initiatives, communications, and coordinating cross functional efforts, it is expected that they will be able to effectively partner with the Portfolio Directors, Product Line Managers, and other Underwriting Leads and develop an in-depth knowledge of Aspen, its operations, policies and procedures.
  • Support Insurance Underwriting controls/standards aligned geographically to each regulatory jurisdiction.
  • Provides support on major initiatives for Aspen Insurance. (e.g., development, coordination, analysis, report preparation, presentations).
  • Assists with activities, ensures adherence to project plans/timelines, anticipates/responds/resolves issues, makes recommendations and keeps relative senior managers informed of project status.
  • Provides important logistical support on various initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned to support achievement of strategic and tactical objectives.

 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Specific professional qualifications at the level of degree or equivalent.
  • 4-7 years of work experience in the insurance industry, preferably with experience working in the Property & Casualty business as an Underwriter and/or Underwriting Assistant with increasing remit and responsibilities over time.
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal and presentation skills including the ability to interpret and communicate compliance guidance.
  • Ability to influence the behaviour of others (informal leadership) to bring about desired change or results.
  • Ability to operate with confidence in ambiguous situations and to help others navigate complexity and risk.
  • Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office software – Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to deliver effective problem solving and drive decision making.
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Ability to define pragmatic and innovative solutions.
  • Able to manage conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
