The work pattern for this job is Hybrid 

The minimum and maximum salaries for this job role are below:

Minimum Salary - 70,400.00  

Maximum Salary - 88,000.00  

 

The Role:

 

To provide efficient and effective, technical, and administrative support to the underwriting team

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Contributes to the preparation and implementation of the operational team plans to ensure these include operational considerations for delivery.
  • Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives.
  • Undertakes a range of duties in order to provide effective support to the underwriting function.
  • Adheres to agreed processes and procedures, to maintain compliance at all times.
  • Contributes to recording and measurement of insurance risks to ensure accuracy, good practice and adherence to relevant performance standards (as prescribed by quality review process).
  • Provides a professional service to uphold the reputation of the underwriting function and the company.
  • Responds to internal and external stakeholder requests in accordance with service standards and best practice.
  • Develops relationships with key stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues to support their needs, maximise influence, and achieve business objectives.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues to deliver superior service standards as part of the extended service team
  • Ensures accurate underwriting data is captured on systems to ensure high quality output of information and minimize risks.
  • Prepares documents to ensure that appropriate records are established and accuracy of records is maintained.
  • Conducts research and prepare reports and back up information to support the team to assist the business planning process.
  • Assists with the production of management information statistics and reports to support the business planning process.
  • Supports the underwriting function through general administration to ensure delivery of a professional service.
  • Develops/maintains sufficient knowledge of underwriting function, to ensure delivery of accurate information when requested.
  • Develops own knowledge of standard procedures and processes.
  • Supports others in the team where appropriate to assist in the achievement of their objectives

 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Experience of working in insurance environment with a basic understanding of underwriting.
  • Experience of working in a client service environment.
  • Completion of Lloyds & London Market test (where relevant).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications e.g. Excel and other departmental software packages.
  • Able to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Able to plan effectively and efficiently.
  • Customer orientation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Good attention to detail.
