Role Purpose 

 

  • To support and execute on the deliverables of the defined group claims strategy to enhance technical and operational performance, quality, and outcomes for policyholders. 
  • Contribute to and support the management and implementation of a global claims control framework with related tools, methods, and processes to provide assessment and action that enhances quality and performance
  • Contribute to and support claims governance and compliance ensuring adherence to global regulatory and legislative standards

Key Results Areas

 

Strategy and Planning

 

  • Contributes to, monitors, and advises on the plan developments and changes in order to ensure relevancy, compliance and optimal financial and qualitative delivery of claims performance for the business and our clients / customers.
  • Support the implementation of the group claims strategy to enable delivery of overall business targets and performance against KPIs.
  • Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of the function’s objectives.

 

Policy, Process and Procedures 

  • Investigate and resolve technical and operational issues from a strong understanding of operational, financial, and claims data attributes and practices across all lines of business. 
  • Identify and investigate claims operational issues for the purpose of minimising the Company’s liability and enhancing regulatory and financial performance. 
  • Manage and support engagement with multiple stakeholders to enable the resolution of issues and the implementation of initiatives. 
  • To support the regulatory and legislative standards, rules, and reporting requirements (incl. Lloyd’s, Medicare, US Licensing) and timeframes. 

 

Technical Performance 

  • Support the global claims function in the development and delivery of service excellence via the management and delivery of:

o    Governance & controls
o    Claims control framework (incl. SOX controls)
o    Quality assurance and audit
o    Thematic reviews

  •   Mitigate and manage regulatory, commercial, and operational risks, producing regular intelligence and data to enable effective risk management and oversight of  performance  
  • Own and support controls and processes and the related data entry and approval tasks to ensure accurate and timely update of the company’s systems as and when required.

 

Knowledge

  • Relevant knowledge of the demands of an operationally focused role in a highly regulated environment, including experience and a deep understanding of claims, conduct, fair value, and complaints
  • Some experience of working with and supporting a claims team and multiple lines of business across geographies with differing regulatory and legislative standards 
  • A track record of supporting and managing initiatives that deliver process improvement and generate efficiencies
  • An understanding of technical claims handling and the operational claims process.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications; Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Experince 

  • In depth experience of working in a Claims environment within a specialized/complex Claims area
