Role purpose

 

Management responsibility for IML lines of business (DI, D&O, PI) in the International FinPro claims team and to works with Underwriters, brokers and customers to provide excellent Claims service. Assist the Global Head of FinPro Claims in the management of the FinPro portfolio.
 

 

Key Result Areas

 

Strategy and Planning 

•    Support the implementation and communication of a Claims strategy 
•    Contributes  to functional strategy development and prioritises operational deliverables and activities of team to support delivery of overall business targets
•     Manages tactical plan and provides support to others to achieve positive results for the business in line with strategy

 

Policy, Process and Procedures 

•    Monitor and manage Claims service performance to ensure control of and reliable prediction of Claims cost and frequency 
•    Develop and implement processes to ensure that the Claims function is aligned to the needs of the class of business, and work closely with underwriters, reserving actuaries and other business functions
•    Maintain Claims Quality Assurance System to ensure effective control and delivery of robust Claims processes

 

Technical Perfromance 

•    Monitor and enforce Aspen’s Reserving Philosophy and Claims Handling Philosophy, Promise and Charter and, where relevant, handle claims in line with the same, to deliver Claims Excellence 
•    Produce weekly Claims data to enable effective monitoring of Claims the IML portfolio.
•    Produce reports on existing and new Claims issues and any adhoc reporting to provide accurate management information
•    Identify and evaluate potential improvements to maximize the use of technology

 

Knowledge

•    Extensive and relevant knowledge of Claims in appropriate area
•    Good working knowledge of company systems, relevant Lloyd’s claims systems and workings of Lloyd’s market
•    Understanding of class specific Claims knowledge
•    Thorough understanding of Aspen’s Claims Strategy and how this translates into operational targets and delivery

Experince 

•    In depth experience of working in a Claims environment within a specialized/complex Claims area
•    Graduate level of equivalent
•    Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute (or equivalent) or significant (10 years plus) Lloyd’s market experience
•    Experience of successfully supporting technical and operational strategy
•    Experience of working as part of a senior team within a multi-national insurance environment  
•    Experience of managing Claims teams / resources
