Aspen is recruiting a Finance Systems Accountant to provide technical accounting systems support to the Finance Systems team. The role will report to Finance Change Project Manager. The role will be primarily responsible for implementing a centralised process for source system to ledger reconciliations across the group based on multiple existing warehouses. This role will also be critical for the implementation of a new accounting hub as part of our Finance Transformation Programme. The role will be working closely alongside the finance systems change team and finance stakeholders. The Finance Systems Support team are also responsible for supporting Coda, Adra, Anaplan, Concur Reporting, Alteryx, Tableau, Finance Data Cube, and Master Data Services.

 

  • ·Provide day to day / monthly support and guidance on source system to CODA reconciliations. · Monitor and Action Service Now Tickets
  • Assist with complex system queries
  • Investigate reconciliations differences, working with stakeholders and various upstream teams to resolve timely.
  • To document the current reconciliations processes across the group and the systems logic for source to CODA mappings.
  • To define a new centralised and consistent reconciliation process.
  • To automate the new centralised reconciliation process. · To define control requirements from a governance perspective.
  • To liaise with IT applications and Data teams to ensure timely fixing of warehouse issues or changes required.
  • To liaise with upstream operating teams to identify data quality issues in source systems causing reconciliation differences.
  • Monitor and drive resolution of reconciliation differences. · To work as part of the FPT programme as an SME, provide requirements,
  • Create training material and deliver user training as necessary
  • Use SQL queries to troubleshoot
  • Continually review and update procedures and support documentation
  • Provide extended critical support during Quarter and Year End
  • Provide support across other Finance Systems applications as required
  • Championing continuous Financial Systems improvements

 

  • 5 + years’ experience supporting Financial Systems
  • Part Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience preferred
  • Experience in the insurance sector is preferred
  • SQL Query experience preferred Additional systems knowledge an advantage:
  • Excellent organisational skills, particularly planning and management skills,
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to relay information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal communications
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships,
  • Attention to detail
  • An understanding of Finance data, systems, and processes,
  • The ability to work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment where meeting tight deadlines is critical, and Ability to work independently and as well as part of a team.
