Responsible for supporting the Syndicate Financial Controller with the effective and efficient management of the financial affairs of Aspen Lloyd’s entities; focus on regulatory and operational reporting of Lloyd’s legal entities and effectively evaluating and embedding key reporting changes. Supporting all operational aspects of finance so they continue to operate at a high standard.

 

  • Responsible for the production of all regulatory returns for Lloyd’s, AUKSSL and APJ entities including SII and new UK GAAP
  • Responsible for production of Lloyd’s related Statutory accounts and other statutory information
  • Responsible for the implementation of new accounting standards and developments within Lloyd’s and APJ entities, in addition to Aspen’s internal policies and procedures
  • Support the Lloyd’s Platform’s reporting framework, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and developments
  • Responsible for the production of monthly /quarterly consolidation reporting to Group
  • Assist the FC in the production of board reports for all Lloyd’s and APJ entities
  • Assist the FC in the preparation and review process of regulatory returns prior to submission
  • Responsible for the production of entity management information for submission to group team
  • Maintenance of relationship with Segment teams
  • Analysis and commentary of legal entity results, providing responses to queries from Group team
  • Maintenance of a strong working relationship with internal and external auditors •
  • Ensuring a smooth running of the auditing process Ensuring compliance with SOx control procedures including quarterly financial reconciliations.

 

  • Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA, with >5 years post qualified experience
  • Significant London Market experience (non-life insurance)
  • Worked in an onshore and outsourced finance model with successful work experience with outsourced parties
  • Track record of delivery in a transformational culture
  • Experience in facilitating and encouraging teamwork and developing people
  • Ability to think strategically with the confidence to challenge and influence Experience of defining and delivering against insurance operations KPIs
