The role:
Working as part of the Group Investment Team and reporting to SVP Group Investments and UK CIO, the Senior Fixed Income Analyst will be responsible for supporting investment management activities with strong focus on the investment analysis and solution across asset classes at the Group level and aligned entities. This includes designing and analysing new investment strategy and solutions, new investment deal screening, portfolio and risk analytics, and investment and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning
- Develop bespoke modelling solutions and analytics to inform investment decision-making and support investment-related corporate initiatives, considering the impact on constraints such as capital, liquidity, earning volatility, risk limits, and asset liability management, as required
- Support the interaction between the investment team and risk management/capital modelling, including the enhancement of 1st line risk reporting if /when required
- Work with external asset managers to identify opportunities and make recommendations to optimise portfolio returns across the group and subsidiary balance sheets
- Preparation and analytical review of monthly/quarterly investment performance, manager oversight report, and compliance reports.
- Research and recommend new investment strategy and solution to help the Group meet its corporate objectives.
Policy, Process and Procedures
- Understand GAAP/IFRS/ISDA/Lloyd’s/PRA/BMA/NAIC etc. pronouncements and the impact on investment strategy and asset allocation decisions across entities.
- Ensure there is a robust control framework supporting allocated responsibilities.
- Support Aspen’s ESG initiatives for the Group & Entity investment portfolios.
Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus
- Preparation of Group and entity Board packs
- Build effective relationship with key entity stakeholders to ensure business knowledge is current.
- Work with external asset managers to identify opportunities to optimise portfolio returns across the group and entity balance sheets.
Technical Performance
- Develop comprehensive investment and portfolio risk analytic tools to keep track of performance across asset classes versus benchmark, as well as external manager oversight
- Work with external managers to develop new trade idea and solution that benefits overall investment outcome within the constraint parameters.
- Enhance business forecast model process
- Develop granular liquidity model and analytics across entity balance sheets
- Analyse new investment strategies, solutions and deals
- Monitor Group and Entity Investment portfolios’ compliance with investment guidelines.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum 2:1)
- CFA, CA, Actuarial or equivalent designation
- Minimum 5 years’ investment experience
- Minimum 3 years’ post qualification experience
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation and technical writing skills
- Teamwork – able to collaborate and work flexibly with others
- Highly proficient in Bloomberg and MS Office applications e.g. Excel and other discipline specific software packages
- Experience with Python or other programming language in Finance
- Research skills – maintaining awareness of emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies.

- Effective time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities to meet strict deadlines
- Problem solving skills, with ability to clearly identify issues and create best practice solutions
