Minimum Salary - 147,200.00
Maximum Salary - 184,000.00
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Solution Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure, and will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that meet our business needs
In this role, you will be responsible for defining Aspen’s application solution architecture for strategic initiatives. You will be a steward for solution design, defining domain strategic roadmaps and defining architecture policy –as applies to your assigned domain (e.g. Insurance, Pricing, Finance, HR, Security, Infrastructure, etc.). You will also lead a small team of solution architects partnering with Data and Infrastructure Architecture teams for end-to-end solutions.
- Architectural Design: Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology strategy.
- Cloud Solutions: Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
- Integration: Lead the integration of various systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business and IT stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Security: Ensure all solutions adhere to security best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance business processes.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all architectural designs and implementations.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects and development teams
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for defining the technology strategy and roadmap for relevant business domains. The technology strategy will plot how technology will meet the domain business objectives over a 5-year span.
- Responsible for future watch by scanning emerging technologies and the business ecosystem for major disruptive technology and non-technology trends (trendspotting) that affect business.
- Lead the definition and approval of architecture process, policy, standards and guidelines.
- Functional management of solution architects to guide them and help them meet project delivery needs and make progress towards agreed strategic objectives.
- Maintains regular contact with Domain executive sponsors as their business partner and trusted technology advisor
- Identify use cases, drivers, expected benefits, pain-points that are important to domain stakeholders.
- Continuously research solutions that enable their outcomes in a cost-effective way with the least execution risk.
- Advanced experience in Enterprise Integration using API and Event-Driven Architectures.
- Knowledge of claims, insurance, and reinsurance business expertise, including familiarity with complex commercial insurance and in particular London Market.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure recommendations or approaches align form an Application, Infrastructure, Security, and Data perspectives.
- Perform cost, schedule and risk impact assessments for solution proposals or broad-reaching change requests to existing applications.
- Establish clear accountabilities and authority levels for direct reports and build a strong culture of accountability and performance in order to ensure delivery of goal.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:
- 5 years of programming experience (Python, Java, c#, .Net)
- Previous Insurance experience and previously supporting Underwriting projects
- At least 10 years in architecture and delivery roles - developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps.
- 5 years in an enterprise architecture role - delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences.
- Experience of designing integrated cloud solutions (Microsoft Azure)
- Specific professional qualifications at the level of degree or equivalent (e.g., computer science, management of information systems or similar).
- Deep subject matter expertise in the assigned business domain with good working knowledge of data, integrations and infrastructure.
- Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
- Ability to translate future-state business capabilities and requirements into architecture requirements.
- Ability to propose and estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives.
- Knowledge of financial models and budgeting.
