Minimum Salary - 147,200.00
Maximum Salary - 184,000.00
The Role:
Aspen Insurance is seeking a highly experienced Technology Lead for their Shared Services division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the technical aspects of projects across IT and Data domains while managing multiple teams. The successful candidate will be instrumental in standing up four new teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture, and driving innovation and continuous improvement. What you'll do:
As a Technology Lead in Shared Services at Aspen Insurance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technical operations. You will be responsible for leading multiple teams including DevOps, Testing Center of Excellence, Office 365, and cloud system administrators. Your leadership will extend beyond team management as you develop IT standards and policies that align with our organisational objectives. You will also establish governance frameworks that ensure these standards are adhered to across all projects. Your role will involve close collaboration with various stakeholders within IT, business units, and external vendors to deliver seamless services. As part of your responsibilities, you will oversee operational activities across different platforms ensuring compliance with organisational policies and security standards.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the DevOps, Testing Center, Cloud System Administrators, and Office 365 teams.
- Develop, document, and enforce IT standards and policies to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Establish governance frameworks to monitor adherence to IT standards across all teams and projects.
- Lead the integration and optimisation of tools and practices across various platforms.
- Partner with stakeholders across IT, business units, and external vendors to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Oversee operational activities for DevOps pipelines, testing frameworks, cloud infrastructure, and Office 365 environments.
- Drive alignment between technical operations and organisational governance frameworks.
- Identify opportunities for automation, cost reduction, and process efficiency across the shared services portfolio.
What you bring:
As the Technology Lead for Shared Services, you bring a wealth of experience in programming languages such as SQL, Java, .NET or Python. Your technical leadership skills have been honed over 5+ years, ideally within the P&C insurance industry. You have proven experience leading technical teams in areas such as DevOps, cloud administration, testing, and Office 365 administration. Your excellent communication skills enable you to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. You understand the interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs and can manage conflicting priorities to meet deadlines. Your strong leadership skills are complemented by your ability to engage and lead a squad.
- 10+ years of experience in programming languages such as SQL, Java, .NET or Python.
- 5+ years of experience in technical leadership roles.
- 2+ years of experience in Azure.
- Proven experience leading technical teams in areas such as DevOps, cloud administration, testing, and Office 365 administration.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
- Understanding of interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to engage and lead a squad.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Information Technology (or relevant work experience).
- Experience with system integrations, data migrations and software development preferred.
