The minimum and maximum salaries for this job role are below:

Minimum Salary -  153,200.00 

Maximum Salary -  191,500.00 

 

For AVP level, the minimum and maximum salary are below:

Minimum Salary - $125,000

Maximum Salary - $140,000

The Role:

Join our dynamic team as a VP, Technical Claims Lead – Reinsurance (or AVP, based on experience), where you'll play a pivotal role in evaluating and processing claims estimates and paid claims values accurately and timely. You'll drive continuous improvement through analytics and insights, build effective tools and processes to minimize risks, and ensure operational reporting is accurate and delivered within required timelines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to and advise on plan developments to ensure relevancy, compliance, and optimal delivery
  • Claims Management: Manage complex claims in collaboration with peers and colleagues across offices
  • Data Analysis: Lead data analysis work to provide valuable insights that improve claims performance
  • Liaison: Act as the key liaison for designated claims portfolio with various departments including Underwriters, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Actuarial
  • Regulatory Compliance: Support regulatory and legislative adherence and embed required changes within the claims portfolio
  • Strategy Implementation: Support the implementation of the group claims strategy to achieve business targets and KPIs through data and intelligence
  • Recommendations: Develop and present recommendations to claims systems and processes to deliver first-class service to clients
  • Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with brokers, third parties, and customers through multi-channel engagement
  • Collaboration: Champion collaboration with internal stakeholders to resolve issues and implement initiatives
  • Market Engagement: Engage with the wider market and promote the Aspen brand and claims reputation
  • Reporting: Produce regular statistical and analytical claims information for effective monitoring
  • Knowledge Maintenance: Maintain sufficient knowledge of claims portfolio to provide excellent claims handling service and recommend improvements
  • Global Support: Support the global claims function in producing KPIs and management information reports
  • Referral Point: Act as a referral point for other members of the global claims team

Skills & Experience:

  • Claims Expertise: 10+ years with a minimum of 5 years handling complex claims; 5+ years (AVP level); Claims Property Reinsurance experience essential; Casualty Reinsurance experience a plus, but not required
  • Client Audits: Experience managing a client claims audit program
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to navigate complex technical data applications and strong investigative skills
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Contractual Coverage: Ability to consider contractual coverage
  • Financial Reserves Management: Ability to manage financial reserves, including forecasting and budgeting to maintain adequate reserves for future claims desired
  • Decision-Making Power: Demonstrated decision-making power in handling and settling complex and high-value claims, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements desired
  • Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills
  • Attention to Detail: Proven track record of delivering service excellence through detailed technical processes
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
